Statement

I am interested in failures of communication. I like processes that are imbued with so much complexity that the finished product seems simple or even minimal. In this complexity, I encourage gestures to remain hidden and obfuscated.

I understand sound as musical, something that communicates with and within established languages but also sound as sculptural, something that fills a room or travels across miles - something that could be used as a monument or a landscape or an ether.

I am an artist that primarily performs experimental music - an improvisational performance practice between noise, drone, free jazz and my background as a classically trained performer of stringed instruments. My practice includes algorithmic sound/video, radio transmission, painting, sculpture, and lens based media.
